ONR SD40-2 #1733

a brand new kato sd40-2 has been carefully disassembled and sand blasted. after a first coat of primer gray it was then painted white, yellow, blue  and black by using professional airbrush equipment. a few of the applied decals are custom printed (numberboards, cab numbers, rear numbers). some light weathering has been applied before a final coat of flat finish was used to seal paint and decals. also appropriate micro-trains couplers have been installed.

blma fans, blma grab irons, blma windshield wipers,blma cut levers, blma grab irons, blma rear fan grab iron, gmm cab shades, gmm air hoses, gmm lift rings,  miniatures by eric bell, sschaer sinclair antenna, sschaer decals.

head light has been converted from top of cab to nose (functional !) also the numberboards have been drilled out and made operationa. (original kato model does not have lighted numberboards).

digitrax dn163k1c installed and tested.

all wheels have been polished to improve traction and electrical contact. this unit has no runtime, except a quick test run to make sure you receive a perfect loco. it comes from a smoke and pet free environment
